Honorees

Dave Sultzer of Waldorf, Maryland, has been engaged as a volunteer for the National Kidney Foundation for more than a decade. He chose the National Kidney Foundation for personal reasons. Several years prior, both of Dave’s parents had kidney failure and were on dialysis. Dave offered to donate a kidney to his mother which extended her life by 10 years, and her renewed good health also enabled her to be the caregiver for his father. In addition to his volunteer work at kidney screenings, Dave has held leadership roles with the Kidney Advocacy Committee and the Wizards Organ Donation Awareness Tournament, was elected to the NKF/NCA Board of Advisors, serves on the Medical Advisory Board, and volunteers at all events including the Kidney Walk and NKF Golf Classic. Always eager to share his story to help others, he has granted media interviews and speaking engagements in any number of settings.

The NKF Corporate Citizenship Award is given annually to a company or organization who’ve gone above and beyond in their support of the National Kidney Foundation and our commitment to fighting kidney disease through education, research, advocacy, and awareness. Since 2018, Compass Real Estate has been a steadfast supporter of NKF’s local fundraising initiatives, including sponsoring and participating in our Organ Donation Awareness Basketball Tournament as well as our NKF Golf Classic. In total, Compass Real Estate has contributed over $20,000 in support for the National Kidney Foundation, allowing our organization to continue providing our friends and neighbors battling kidney disease in the National Capital Area the resources and care they desperately need.
